What is “soulbriety”?

To be sober means to be without the substance (specifically alcohol, but let’s insert any substance or toxic habit/pattern because at the end of the day, addiction is addiction). It means to be independent of it. But once we “sober up” and take those negative aspects away, what are we left with? Are we cured? Absolutely not… not at first anyway.

Once our bodies are detoxified, we are left with pain, regret, shame, and sometimes that cycle is so agonizing, it’s often what leads us back to a relapse. If we’re not prepared to really get in there & clean the deepest wounds, we will forever be bandaging an infected injury & it will never fully heal. Often, it just grows and multiplies in intensity (Not the most appealing analogy, but I think you get the gist).

True soul-briety is when we really take a vulnerable look at how our lives have become, what the root issues are, take ownership, forgive ourselves & others, and truly heaalll. Once we start that very hard, but very rewarding work, our lives start changing before our eyes. That unrecognizable but persistent pain and weight starts to subside, and if we are consistent and diligent with this inner work, we start to heal parts we didn’t even know were injured, and become someone we didn’t even know we were capable of being.

Soul-briety is the magic that comes after we stop pointing the finger of blame & instead turn it inward, getting back our power over our own healing. It’s the alchemy of our mindset, from survival mode to peace, acceptance, and joy. It’s the returning home to self, and the manifestation of our soul’s true calling. It is being sober: independent of not only the toxic habits and patterns, but of the toxic thinking and coping mechanisms that led to the behavior.

There is a freedom and tranquility that comes when we make a commitment to ourselves, and no matter where you are, have been, or are heading, it is your birthright to attain and sustain it. And if you don’t believe you can, I will believe in you until you get there.

Sending love & light!
